School Notes
- Ohio Institute of Photography and Technology focuses on providing career training in diverse areas such as healthcare, multimedia, photography, criminal justice and graphic design. In 1970, 13 top professional photographers from the Midwest met in Dayton, Ohio, to explore the idea of a highly specialized and innovative photographic training center. OIP&T's 14,000 square-foot main facility was constructed in 1977. The College added 4,400 square feet in 1984. The expanded facility houses 17 classrooms and administrative and faculty offices. It provides expanded facilities of approximately 20,000 square feet primarily for the graphic design, criminal justice and allied health programs. In July of 1993, OIP&T was purchased by Educational Medical, Inc. EMI (the parent company) changed its name to Quest Education Corporation in September of 1998. Camera and lighting exercises, tabletop photography and portrait techniques are explored in five fully-equipped studios. Nine computer labs (IBM and Macintosh), plus audio/visual areas, provide multimedia majors with the latest in digital technologies and imaging. The black and white laboratories are composed of thirty-two separate stations. In addition to the printing and processing areas, there are facilities for chemical mixing and quality control. The college is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).
