California’s community college system has entered into an agreement with law schools throughout the state to provide community college students with mentoring, networking opportunities, access to law school faculty and more, all in an effort to encourage a more diverse range of students to apply for law school.
Although a community college education is inexpensive when compared to tuition and fees at a four-year institution, some students still need financial assistance to pay their education bills. Yet, some community colleges don’t participate in the federal student loan program, putting some students in a financial bind.
Safety has been a top concern at community colleges since the Virginia Tech tragedy, but awareness has been heightened from recent attacks. We’ll discuss what schools are doing to protect students, as well as recent community college attacks in Texas and Virginia.
