ESCANABA - The Upper Peninsula Sportsmen's Alliance (UPSA) is hosting the first of five regional meetings throughout the Upper Peninsula to obtain information from U.P. sportsmen on how they feel about current hunting regulations and associated issues. ESCANABA - It is with mixed emotions that Tom Sabor is leaving his position as business manager of the Escanaba School District. Sabor is leaving after 19 years with the Escanaba School District to accept a position with Bay de Noc Community College in February. IRON MOUNTAIN - A collaborative effort to start a YMCA in the Dickinson County area is under way. Local volunteers are currently working with the Delta County YMCA to provide programs to cooperate and collaborate with existing entities in the community. ESCANABA - Members of the local art community say they were shocked and saddened by the death of local artist and teacher H. John Gustafson Tuesday. Gustafson, 78, died at his home in Gladstone. "We have all lost a tremendous artist and person," said Teresa Ross, East Ludington Gallery, Escanaba. "I can't even put into words how great a loss his passing is.
