- Plaza College was founded in 1916 and began as an independent institution based in Long Island City. As long range plans indicated a need for more space, Plaza moved to Jackson Heights in 1970. The Plaza tradition has been one of providing students with a quality education that will lead to opportunities for both personal growth and career advancement in the business world. Academic support, counseling, and placement services reach out to each student ensuring a successful educational experience. The development of computer facilities, course offerings and other enhancements to the life of the College community clearly reflect Plaza's history of responding to dramatic changes in technology and the nature of business.
- Plaza College's programs are registered by the New York State Board of Regents and the College is authorized to confer the Associate in Applied Science and the Associate in Occupational Studies degrees. Degree Programs includes Business Administration, Information Sciences, Accounting and Information Systems, Office Technologies, Computer Business Support Specialist and Medical Assisting. Certificate Programs incudes Office Assistant, Word Processing, Junior Accounting, Computer operations assistant, Medical Office Assistant, Entrepreneurship, Junior Office Assistant and High Tech.
